Submitted by Cory, this article belongs to Poker Cash Games series. In this article series, Cory sums up the top 10 most important limit poker cash game strategy tips. I hope you all understand why this is really a good idea and are ready to start the min-bet craziness. Have fun. Too many books focus on starting hand charts and how you should always play tight aggressive no matter what.

This is what you need to know about pre-flop limit games. Big cards are more valuable in limit games than in no limit games. That is because top pair good kicker can go to showdown a lot cheaper and you can draw to a Broadway straight a lot cheaper. Play big cards more aggressively and try to get heads up. This is a very important concept both pre-flop and on the flop. We can generally assume that the cutoff has 2 overs to our hand, so we could take this flop hoping to hit a set or dodge six overs, or we could raise hoping the blinds will fold to three bets and take a flop against just one opponent with only two overs against us.

This is also important on the flop. The flop came down 4S, TS, 2H. The original raiser checks and someone in later position bets. When it gets back to me I raise to two bets and got the original raiser to fold what he told me later was A J. This means I just created dead money and bought extra outs. Before I made it two bets my Ace was dominated, so hitting a pair of aces would have been bad for my hand.

I had 12 outs to win the pot. By forcing the bigger Ace out I turned my hand from a 12 out draw to a 14 out draw. Tip 3. Pay attention to the texture of the flop and play your hand accordingly. The flop is AH, 9H, 3S. We lead at this flop and our opponent makes it two bets. This can mean a few different things. This board has a few more scary combinations out there if we get two bet on the flop.

There are two types of poker book; the ones you read once and the ones that you read again and again throughout your poker career. I strongly believe that the books below are the latter. Below is a list of what I believe to be best strategy books in each category from general strategy, no limit cash game strategy, tournament strategy and ebooks. The Theory of Poker is the best all-round poker book you are going to read. It does not address the game of Texas Hold'em specifically, but the true value of the book is that it teaches you how to think like a winning poker player.

Starting hand charts and quick-fix rules will only take you so far, as being able to make the best plays possible based on your analysis of a situation makes the difference between an average and great player. It's a must read for every serious poker player. I would however recommend that you have a least a basic knowledge of the fundamental aspects of the game, as the strategy may well be very hard to digest for anyone very new to poker. This is another great all-round strategy book that covers all of the most popular variants of poker.

It is an enjoyable read and contains informative strategy for helping you develop a solid all-round game. I would personally choose Theory of Poker over this if I could only choose one "general" strategy book to read, but that's not to say this doesn't have value. I'd would however choose this book over ToP if I was very new to the game due to the fact that it is easier to follow and understand. This book is definitely not an easy read for beginner players, so you should only pick up this book if you already have a sound knowledge of good Hold'em strategy.

No Limit Hold'em: Theory and Practice can be hard to follow at times, but it does contain a lot of very valuable information. The material is a little complicated, but it is well worth reading if you want to be able to absorb some of the most advanced strategy that you can get from a Hold'em strategy book.

Professional No-Limit Hold'em is an easier read than Theory and Practice, and does a very good job of covering the fundamental strategy for a profitable game.

Holdem manager wtsd stat

Best online texas holdem software

This stat shows the percentage of the time a player raises before the flop. Every time you make a preflop raise, it counts toward your PFR. This can be a simple raise to 4bbs, or it could be a 3bet or 4bet.

Basically, any time you enter the pot preflop with a raise, you're contributing to your PFR stat. Using PFR, you can get an idea of how tight or how loose a player is when raising before the flop. The bigger their PFR stat, the wider their range is when raising before the flop and vice versa. But why exactly is this helpful? Therefore, these two stats will give you a good idea of your opponent's playing style. Most fish will have a high ratio where their PFR is tiny in comparison to their VPIP, which means that they clearly don't have a great preflop strategy because they are calling too much.

You should be more aggressive preflop. These are generally experienced players that have good preflop strategy and are likely to be decent post flop too. These tend to be the knowledgeable players that have an idea of what they're doing. These players call too often, which means that you can probably extract a lot of money from them through value betting when you have a decent hand.

Don't try to bluff. These players only play premium hands. These players should be easy to bluff, be but very wary when they start to show some action. These players make wild bets and raises.

They enjoy playing lots of hands and trying to win as many pots as possible. Just wait for a strong hand and keep calling. This is why I covered how useful it is to combine the two in this guide, rather than dedicating the whole article to the PFR stat alone. Articles Software Pfr.
