New Network Management Poker Board Formed by Microgaming
Microgaming, the giant software network which provides top quality casino and poker entertainment, announced that it would be establishing an innovative new Network Management Board. The idea of the board is to oversee the future development and the current running of the software group’s Poker Network. One representative from each of Microgaming’s top online poker rooms that form part of the Microgaming Poker Network will serve on the board, alongside a delegate chosen from the software group and a Chairman who is sourced from the industry but is not connected to the group. According to a statement released by Microgaming, the poker room operators and Microgaming will share votes on key issues, with proportional shares determined by a formula which is agreed on by the board. In addition, members will determine the criteria for membership to the board. While licensee representatives and the Microgaming representative will have a vote, the Chairman will not, nor will any industry experts who are invited to consult the board on issues such as player perspective, long term revenue potential and ecology. The Head of Network Games for Microgaming, Lydia Melton said the poker industry is not an easy one to be a part of, and this is heightened when operators feel that they are not in control of their own destinies. As such, the creation of Microgaming’s Network Management Board was a move to cede control of the network to its primary operators. Melton said that the industry needs this type of format and the group believes that it is the only network willing to make such a fundamental change as to how it operates in the industry.
